Christian Men's Fellowship (CMF) will meet Sat. Sept. 12 at 8 am in the Friendship Classroom for a breakfast meeting on "Planting Seeds for Spiritual Harvest: Lessons for Christians".

The lesson will be Biblical based and will include among others the Parables of the Sower and the Growing Seed, how and why we plant seeds that God has provided, what our role is in nourishing the seeds, and the spiritual harvest we will experience in our life as well as in others by furthering God's Kingdom.

Disciples Women’s Ministries (DWM) will meet Wed. Sept. 9 at 10 am in the Friendship Classroom for a lesson, devotion, service project, fellowship and light snacks.

Martha Schmidt will provide the study, Bette Kunkle and Martha Schmidt the snacks, and Carley Arnold the devotion. This month's service project is ALS which DWM has supported for the last couple of years that has affected several members in our congregation.

DWM will meet Wednesday August 12 at 10 am in the Friendship Classroom for a lesson, devotion, service project, fellowship and light snacks. Martha Schmidt will provide the study, Caro LaRue and Joyce Shelly the snacks, and Susan Lundquist the devotion. This month's service project is Amethyst Place, a long-term supportive housing program in Kansas City, Missouri for women in recovery from substance abuse and their children aiming to break cycles of poverty, trauma and addiction.  All women are welcome to join us as we continue to learn, have fellowship, and make a difference in our community.

Christian Men’s Fellowship

Christian Men's Fellowship (CMF) will meet Saturday August 8 at 8 am in the Friendship Classroom for a Breakfast Meeting on "Faith and Works: Lessons for Christians". The lesson will be Biblical based and will include among others the connection between faith and works, why God wants us to have both faith and works in our life, and the impact our faith and works will have not only on ourselves but those we interact with. This is a good opportunity to join us as we continue to learn in an informal environment on our Christian walk.

Make plans now to attend FCCI's "Cool Treats and Hot Beats" Community Ice Cream Social this Saturday August 1 from 2 to 4 pm on the North Lawn and the Friendship Classroom.  In addition to the "Cool Treats" ice cream and all that goes with it, our Choir Director William Canady will provide "Hot Beats" music with a few surprises.  You don't want to miss this annual event that promises to provide good food, fellowship and good times. Christian Men's Fellowship (CMF) will meet Saturday July 11 at 8 am in the Friendship Classroom for a Breakfast Meeting on "Filling Your Spiritual Capacity Bucket to Overflowing: Lessons for Christians". The lesson will be Biblical based and will include among others the importance of filling your Christian spiritual bucket from even empty to overflowing, what is involved in filling your Christian spiritual bucket, and the Christian growth you will receive by being more Christ like in your actions and deeds.  This is an ideal time to join us as we learn in an informal environment continuing on our Christian Journey.

This will be a simple event marking the birthday of our country and the also the founding of our church in 1835.

Make plans now to attend the Church Picnic Sunday June 28 after church as we celebrate the 191st Birthday of Independence First Christian Church which was founded on July 4, 1835, taking only the Holy Bible as their guide and standard.
