First Christian Church Scholarship
First Christian Church has been generously endowed by church members who have, through gifts and memorials, established a scholarship which provides a financial award to be provided to those enrolled in a college/university or a corresponding career development institution (i.e.: trade school; information technology; technical program)
This scholarship will be in the amount of $2,000 - $1,000.00 per semester for the 1st year semesters requested.
The applicant can reapply for the following years for $500 per year.
If the applicant goes further on in their educational pursuit, then another $2,000 could be awarded (i.e. master’s degree program, etc.)
Applicant will need to reapply each year.
Students away from education for some time and re-entering the higher education programs, may also apply.
However, they may not have all of the necessary documents. If that is the case, please note that on the application and send along what is available along with an explanation.
Application Procedure
Applications will become available during the month of January of each year for the year that the request is intended to be used.
Applications may be requested to be mailed from the church office and available on the church website.
Any one of these methods are acceptable for receiving the application and delivering the application when completed.
Completed applications, current school transcript(s), letters of recommendation must be returned to the Scholarship Committee at the First Christian Church.
The completed application may be mailed, dropped off at the church office or submitted through the church website.
It is preferred that the applications be turned in by April 1, but can still be reviewed if received later than April 1st. Additional paper may be used if more room is needed for any responses.
NOTE: We are late getting the 2024 scholarship applications posted so please apply for the upcoming school year.
It’s most important that your responses are detailed and complete to help the Scholarship Committee better evaluate the application and get to know the applicant.
It is very important that the application be legible. Any questions should be directed to the scholarship chairperson or minister.
The applicant will need to submit the transcripts from the prior two (2) years of education.
Applicant will also need 2 references of their choice. One reference will need to submit a letter of recommendation and once reference will only need to give a brief description of the candidate and why they believe this person is good person to receive this scholarship.
